How does it work?
The Visa General Purpose Reloadable card can be obtained from a financial institution or store, or requested over the internet or by phone.
If the card is purchased at a physical store, the consumer can receive a temporary card. The card can be activated at the store, over the phone by calling the Customer Service Center, or at a website, simply by providing the necessary information and performing the required validations.
Cardholders can add or “reload” funds to most general purpose reloadable cards at issuer financial institution or through reload facilities at some merchants, or may request their salary* or governmental benefits to be deposited directly to the card.
Consumers can use the card to make purchases at millions of stores and internet or telephone merchants around the world.
